BYOU methodology
These definitions explain how BYOU describes profiles, professionals, bookings, users and reviews in public information.
Last updated: 13 September 2026
Public profile
A public profile is a professional page that an unauthenticated visitor can read. It does not mean the professional currently has a bookable time available.
Approved professional
An approved professional has passed BYOU's administrative review for publication. This means identity and submitted professional information were checked as described on the trust page. It does not mean every professional holds a licence, because many services are not regulated in the same way.
Bookable professional
A bookable professional is an approved professional with at least one service and an available booking option. Public profile counts and bookable professional counts may therefore differ.
Active user
An active user should only be reported with a stated measurement period and a defined qualifying action. BYOU does not publish an active user total on this website without that context and supporting records.
Verified review
A verified review is feedback that BYOU can connect to a completed paid booking. Reviews from other platforms are attributed to those platforms and are not combined into a BYOU score without an explained method.
Prices and counts
Professionals set their own prices. A starting price is only used while a currently public profile offers that price. Counts and ratings are omitted when BYOU cannot support them with current records.
