BYOU is available worldwide through online sessions, so you can book a verified therapist, coach, or wellbeing expert from any country with a stable internet connection. We also have dedicated city pages with local context for Amsterdam, London, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Boston, and we are adding new cities every quarter.

Anyone aged 18 or older can create a BYOU account and book sessions. For people aged 16 or 17, a parent or guardian must create the account and join the first session. Companies and universities can also sponsor BYOU sessions for employees and students through our Companies and Campuses programs.

No. BYOU is a self booking platform. You do not need a referral from a doctor, a diagnosis, or insurance approval. You choose the expert, the topic, and the moment that works for you.

Some employers and insurers reimburse sessions as part of their mental health or wellbeing benefit. Check with your HR team or insurance provider, and use the receipt that BYOU sends after each session to submit a claim.

Most BYOU experts work online, which gives you the largest possible choice and the shortest waiting times. In selected cities, some experts also offer in-person sessions. You can see this directly on each expert profile.
